The Vultures Circle Notre Dame

On April 15, 2019, a fire destroyed large parts of the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. It didn’t take long for the modernist architects to begin circling the charred remains like vultures on a dead carcass.

They are encouraged by French President Emmanuel Macron’s vow to quickly rebuild, “consistent with our modern and diverse nation” in time for the Paris Summer Olympics, and by French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe’s announcement of his plan to launch an international architectural competition to seize upon the tragedy to modernize the 850-year-old structure. In his remarks, Philippe noted that Notre Dame has not been frozen in time, but has in-fact been tweaked throughout its history. He pointed to the fact that the spire that collapsed on Monday was only 150-years-old.

What is already being talked about is a glass roof, a contemporary steel spire, or even replacing the spire altogether with an Islamic minaret to honor Algerians who protested the French government in the 1960s. Umm, NO!

The two groups that need to be kept far away from Notre Dame are the terrorists and the modernist architects, with their bizarre and soulless 21st century designs that lack character and deep meaning.

Restore not redesign!

Knee-jerk Gun Control in New Zealand

New Zealand’s police minister Stuart Nash said of the development: “I want to remind that it is a privilege and not a right to own a firearm in New Zealand.”

Wow! In the United States we have God given rights that we’re naturally born with, not privileges that can be taken away whenever mommy and daddy government feel like it. We’re certainly facing severe challenges to our rights here, but at least that pesky thing called the United States Constitution makes it harder for the enemies of freedom to impose their will on us.

GOD BLESS AMERICA! 🇺🇸

National Popular Vote Interstate Compact

I posted about this back in February regarding Washington State and here is another example.

To reiterate, we’re seeing more and more secessionist movements within states spring up across the country. Right-leaning rural areas of states want to secede from heavily populated left-leaning urban areas because the rural areas feel effectively disenfranchised. Urban areas have become powerful voting blocks that have allowed them to become a ruling elite, lording over rural areas of their states.

And again, this should be a wake-up call for America, because this is what the Democratic Party wants to do to us nationally.

Our national electoral college was put in place by our founding fathers because, in their infinite wisdom, they knew straight democracies invariably lead to tyranny of the majority. This is also why Congress was divided into two bodies—one based on population and the other based on geography.

The left is pushing hard to get more states to sign onto their National Popular Vote Interstate Compact that would nullify our our national electoral college. Then they want to (1) flood America with illegals (2) fight voter ID laws to make sure illegals are able to vote (for Democrats), (3) lower the voting age to 16 (since that age demographic is far more likely to vote for Democrats than Republicans), and (4) allow felons to vote. This ensures that a small handful of heavily populated left-leaning states will be able to continuously elect a leftist and elitist national government to rule the country. What incentive would mostly rural states have to remain in the United States if in election after election after election their interests get vetoed by heavily populated states?

The United States was not set up to be one continuous geographical voting block. We are a collection of sovereign states.

This is a recipe for division and conflict in America, and it is certainly not in my best interest.

We can’t let this happen!

The Right to Keep and Bear Arms “Shall Not Be Infringed.”

Unfortunately for the enemies of the 2nd Amendment, our right to keep and bear arms is a God-given right. We don’t have the right to keep and bear arms because the Bill of Rights says so; rather, the Bill of Rights says so because the right to keep and bear arms is intrinsic to our very being: it’s a right with which we were endowed by our Creator. Therefore, they DO NOT have the authority to take this right away from us by legislation, constitutional amendment, or any other process. PERIOD!
